Volume 3 Winter 2017/2018
In this issue, Editor-in-Chief James Mullinger interviews world famous photographer Freeman Patterson. Born on New Brunswick’s Kingston Peninsula, he has travelled the world but chooses to live and work at Shampers Bluff, close to where he was born. Sussex, New Brunswick-born photographer Jennifer Irving shoots the essential looks for the season including H&M’s stunning winter collection and dozens of East Coast designers and retailers.
Poets Robert Moore and Clyde Wray (who have written new and exclusive poems for this issue) left Ontario and New York respectively to focus on their work — and thrive — in Saint John, New Brunswick. Likewise, our correspondent Tara Bradbury (who writes about the evolution of Broadway’s hottest musical right now Come From Away) has worked internationally but lives big as an award-winning investigative journalist out of her beloved St. John’s, Newfoundland. And when New Yorker Chef Michael Smith fell in love with Prince Edward Island, he opened one of the world’s best restaurants there. It welcomes visitors from around the globe who fly in solely and specifically to indulge in his creations.
As ever, The Maritime Edit’s network of correspondents around the globe report on local and international affairs with wit, intelligence and insight, with photography and writing commissioned exclusively for the magazine.
All this plus dining, interiors, recipes, winter fashion and the essential films, art exhibitions, books and music of the season - as well as much, much more.
