Volume 32 | Spring 2025

Volume 32 of [EDIT] magazine is a very special issue, and we are confident you will agree. [EDIT] magazine has always taken pride in its diversity. Our thoroughly researched features and profile interviews with award-winning journalists showcase a range of businesses, artistic geniuses, tourism leaders, community champions, and healthcare heroes.

Most volumes of [EDIT] are similar to the issue you hold in your hand right now, but this one is exclusively female-led. To be clear though, we highlight exceptional women not out of obligation or misplaced loyalty — or because women need our assistance. This volume happens to be entirely female-driven because these remarkable individuals are shaping our region in unique and inspirational ways, and readers need to hear their stories. This approach is merit-based, not gender-based.

Senior Editor Jennifer Wood meets a literary agent who champions diverse voices in publishing. One of the most sought-after agents in the country, Maria Vicente represents more than 30 writers worldwide from her office in Saint John, New Brunswick. Jennifer also meets 15-year-old innovator Joy Akinkunmi, Paralympic gold-medal champion Danielle Dorris and New Brunswick’s first female premier, Susan Holt.

The cover story is an exclusive interview with Oksana Posatska, who left the Ukraine to start a new life with her family in Saint John. In less than a decade she has made her mark on the Port City, becoming an entrepreneur, community leader and a bona fide hero in the world of floristic artistry. Her story will uplift, inspire and motivate. Both the scintillating words and the majestic photographs are by another beloved artistic genius, Kelly Lawson.
